“Tween Hearts” was a popular youth-oriented show which was first aired back in September 2010. It was directed by actress/director Gina Alajar for GMA network. Originally slated to air for just 8 episodes, the series got an extended run after it successfully defeated the four counterpart programs in television ratings.
“Tween Hearts” followed the lives of a close-knit of teenagers through a fictional Westridge High School. It tackled topics from first love and heartbreaks, to giving in to peer pressure, bullying, to broken family as well as other related topics affecting the youth.
This “Tween Hearts” mini-reunion has got the public wondering what the cast has been up to since the said show wrapped up back in 2012. Each of them had their own TV show programs now. Barbie and Ken just had their finished doing Meant To Be. Derrick plays Almiro while Bea portrays Anya in the hit fantaserye Mulawin vs Ravena. Joyce will also be joining the said TV series soon. Hiro is in the GMA morning show “Unang Hirit,” while Kristoffer is part of the cast of Marian Rivera’s soon to be aired primetime show, “The Good Teacher.”
Sadly, some cast members were missing—Joshua Dionisio, Jake Vargas, Alden Richards, Elmo Magalona, Louise delos Reyes, Kiko Estrada, Lexi Fernandez, Kylie Padilla, Yassi Pressman, Teejay Marquez, Krystal Reyes, Kim Rodriguez, Marlo Mortel and Julie Anne San Jose—but they were definitely there in spirit.
The cast agreed that their friendship and the bond they had shared over the past 7 years was something they all had kept in their hearts. They were like family, not just friends. They practically grew up together. They were all obviously very grateful to be together again.
They all agreed they’re no longer teens. But as they claim, apart from the physical changes and their maturity, it seems not much has changed.
