If there is one thing that gives Randy Santiago a trademark aside from his legendary voice, is his iconic shades. He was never seen on TV without them that’s why people grew curious about its backstory.
There were rumors saying that he was involved in a motorcycle accident that resulted to his eye to be half-closed. During his interview with “Magandang Buhay,” Randy revealed what was the cause.
According to him, it happened in grade school. The doctor found a cyst in his left eye and underwent surgery. He repeated second grade and was diagnosed again. Randy said the doctor mistakenly cut off a nerve that enables him to open his eye.
He recalled that he was never bullied in school and said that his classmates were kind enough to ignore his condition.
Despite this, Randy pursued his passion in singing and acting. Now, his name stands as one of the Philippines’ greatest artists. An iconic one, if we may add.
