- Fans of Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil put Preview Magazine in hot water after tagging Kapuso star, Gil Cuerva, as the “King of the Gil”
- The fans argued that Enrique already earned that title years before Gil even entered showbiz
“My Love From The Star” actor Gil Cuerva earned negative comments after being called “King of the Gil” by Preview Magazine through his photo in their Instagram account.
Gil is included in the ” 100Most Beautiful Stars” list of YES! Magazine.
Fans of Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil attacked both Gil and the magazine for giving the title to the “wrong guy.” According to them, their idol, Enrique, holds that name for a long time now and he’s the only one deserving for it.
Bashers spread like wildfire in the comments section as the love team’s fan base defend Enrique. They cited that Enrique was first dubbed as “King of the Gil” in his debut dance album under Star Records which was released in July 2013.
The fans felt that Enrique was disrespected by the post so they urged Preview to edit their caption.
Preview complied to the request of the fans and changed it to “The man in the velvet suit.” However, the fans did not let it go easily and they continued on spreading hateful words towards the Kapuso star.
They called him “starlet,” “cockroach,” and “budget version” of former PBB housemate Tommy Esguerra. Gil didn’t react on this due to the overwhelming number of LizQuen fans.
Some of them were becoming overboard for attacking Gil when he didn’t intend to disrespect Enrique or even take his title away from him. Gil was in fact clueless of the name.
The Spanish-Filipino actor rose to fame in the Philippines this year for being the lead actor on the tele-drama remake of the hit South Korean romantic-comedy series, “My Love from the Star”, with Jennylyn Mercado.
