If you happen to know Nadine Lustre long before she became one of the country’s biggest stars, she was an active cosplayer. At the age of 14, she wears different anime costume alongside her best friend and fellow cosplayer, former “Pinoy Big Brother” grand winner, Myrtle Sarrosa.
They both love dressing up as characters from their favourite anime show.
Nadine has indeed gone a long way from the cosplayer she once was. But her love for both anime and fandom are still very much alive even up to this day.
She recently posted a photo of her boyfriend, actor James Reid o n her Twitter account where she obviously compared the looks of James to two different anime male characters in two different posts. She first compared a photo of James in what seemed like an ‘out-of-bed’ type of hair to Mamoru Chiba.
Mamoru Chiba is a character from the hit anime series Sailormoon.
Mamoru Chiba is the present-day incarnation of Prince Endymion and the civilian identity of Tuxedo Mask. This is the first animated depiction of the original manga character.
As if that wasn’t enough, Nadine also posted another anime alongside a photo of James and compared her boyfriend ‘s photo this time with Tamahome, a character from Fushigi Yuugi. Tamahome’s character originated from Japanese shoio manga series written and illustrated by Yuu Watase and was published from 1992 to 1996.
Just like Sailormoon, Fushigi Yuugi became so widely popular among anime fanatics across the world.
On her Twitter post, Nadine even wrote as caption: “I made paalam K.” She must have meant that she asked her boyfriend’s permission to post his photo alongside her favourite anime characters.
Both Twitter posts from Nadine, instantly drew reactions from netizens and her loyal followers. JaDine fans also elicited positive reactions as they find Nadine’s tweets as her ‘sweet gesture’ towards her significant other and in the process made JaDine fans all gushing on social media.
