- Mocha Uson has denied what Secretary Martin Andanar told the media last week that she has editors on her social media page and blog.
- Uson clarified on her Facebook page that she does not have any editor.
- She said she’s still the one writing her own posts but she toned down a bit and avoided cuss words.
Secretary for the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Martin Andanar mentioned in a radio interview that Mocha Uson should be more “circumspect” about her Facebook posts now that she is now part of the Malacanang’s communication arm.
PCOO Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson recently clarified recently that there’s no truth that her social media account and blog goes through editors just as her superior, Andanar had announced last week. Andanar, her boss told the reporters last week that Uson was getting editors for her Facebook account.
He also mentioned that since Uson had become part of Malacanang’s communication arm, she should be more “circumspect” about her Facebook posts as it reflects not only herself but also of the office she’s currently working for.
Andanar also revealed that it was he who also advised Uson to hire people to help her in managing her growing Facebook page. Uson recently admitted to her mistake when she reposted a photo of Honduras policemen with a caption asking for prayers fro the Philippine Army during the Marawi City crisis.
“Para sa kaalaman ng lahat—hindi po totoo ang balitang maglalagay tayo ng editor sa ating blog. Ang MOCHA USON BLOG ay hindi kailangan i-filter dahil ito ay boses ng ordinaryong Pilipino,” Uson said.
Uson rose to fame through social media during the 2016 presidential elections where she had always been a staunch supporter of then Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Her all-girl group, Mocha Girls performed during Duterte’s campaign rallies and sorties.
She was appointed as Movie and Television Review and Classification Board a few months after Duterte won the presidency. And later on, she was appointed as the Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary.
