  • Manny Pacquiao has given the reason why he is not leaving the world of boxing.
  • The boxer-turned-senator uploaded a video of himself while giving 100-peso bills to his kababayans.
  • Manny Pacquiao reportedly earned $10 million in prize money alone from his fight against Jeff Horn.
  • Netizens criticized and accused Manny of using the poor to give relevancy to his image.

He might have lost the Welterweight Championship belt to Australian professional boxer Jeff Horn, but for the citizens of General Santos City, Manny Pacquiao will always be their winner. The senator had a thanksgiving event in General Santos City, few days after his controversial boxing fight with Jeff.

On a Facebook video, Manny could be seen giving P100 to children, while the adults received P300 – P500 from the boxer. According to his caption, helping people is the main reason why he still fight in the ring despite people’s call for his retirement.

Based on the report by “24 Oras”, Manny’s act was praised by netizens. But contrary to their report, Manny was heavily criticized by netizens through the respective Facebook pages of News5, GMA News, and ABS-CBN News.

Netizens questioned the senator’s genuine thoughtfulness as the amount of money he had given to his kababayans would only last for one day.

As of this writing, the original video has gained 5.2 million views, 234,000+ likes, and 71,400+ shares.
