- It has been two years since Kapuso actress Maine Mendoza rose to fame as “Yaya Dub” and Alden Richard’s love team partner
Yesterday, July 5, Maine Mendoza celebrated her 2nd year in the showbiz industry in TAPE Inc.’s noontime show “Eat Bulaga.”
The 22-year-old actress first got her break in 2015 as “Yaya Dub” in the ‘Juan for All, All for Juan’ series with Lola Nidora (Wally Bayola), Jose Manalo, and Paolo Ballesteros.
She first appeared on the show July 4 two years ago. Later on, her fans gave birth to “AlDub” because of the undeniable chemistry of Maine and “Pambansang Bae” Alden Richards on screen.
The two headlined “Kalyeserye” as part of the earlier segment. It’s a soap opera parody that follows the forbidden love story of a fictional couple.
Since then, Maine gained a whopping number of fans and supporters.
In a video flashed yesterday, she expressed that her fame still overwhelms her to this date. She recalled that she was once a simple girl doing Xerox in their company and now she’s one of the highest-paid commercial faces in the country.
During those two years, Maine already accomplished a lot of things in the business. She recently finished a teleserye with Alden last May.
Maine starred in different box-office movies such as “My Bebe Love” and “Imagine You & Me.”
According to Maine, showbiz helped her fight her stage fright and lack of self-confidence.
She assured her fans that she would remain down to earth and continue to entertain them with her wacky side.
“Hanggang ngayon, isang malaking kuwestyon pa rin sa akin kung bakit. Pero siguro, talagang meant ako sa lugar na ‘to, kaya maraming salamat po.
“Pero isang bagay lang ang sigurado. Kahit saan man ako makarating, babalik at babalik pa rin ako kung saan ako nagsimula.
“Ako pa rin si Maine Mendoza na hindi sanay kumanta at sumayaw, na walang alam kundi magpapangit.”
Happy 2nd Anniversary Maine!
