Megaplexes as well as our TV screens were deluged with remakes this year. “Gulong Ng Palad” will soon be having a new movie version.
Director Laurice Guillen stressed that the film “Gulong Ng Palad” which she will be doing under Cineko Films will not be a remake or reboot of the past versions of the film with the same title. Direk Laurice also said that she promises to give her version of “Gulong Ng Palad” with a fresh new perspective.
Lovi Poe and Erich Gonzalez will be leading the cast of this new film version.
Remakes and reboots seem to become fad these days. What’s the attraction of remakes and how do they get made? Retreading movies may not always go as studios hope, yet there’s nothing wrong if one gives it a fresh insight.
Film director Laurice Guillen will soon start filming a new version of the popular drama series “Gulong Ng Palad” under Cineko Films. But the lady director stressed what she will be doing isn’t a remake of the old versions, rather she’ll make a different one.
“I’ll give the film a new flavor and perhaps some new twists,” beams Director Laurice Guillen.
“It will be different in the sense na hindi natin uumpisahan sa simula. May konting ano lang, background from the past. Pero ito‘yung ngayon. What we have is continuation. ‘Yung huling part nung ‘Gulong Ng palad’ is ‘yung pupunta na sila sa Amerika. So hindi siya remake,” says Direk Laurice in an interview.
She continued: “Ito ngayon, ang istorya nila ay yung pagbabalik nila sa Pilipinas. Makikita nila ‘yung pamilya ng lalaki, ‘yung kalagayan nila ngayon.”
According to Direk Laurice, what they will be showing in the movie will be something that most people will be able to relate with. And although they will be tackling social malaise like drugs, they will have a different treatment in the said film. “May mga ganoon, pero it is how the family gets affected. Halimbawa, with drugs, kapag ang isang miyembro ng pamilya mo whether anak, kapatid or pinsan mo, lumaki ka na kasama at nakikita mo ang kanyang pagbabago. Ganito na kasi ang environment natin ngayon. The film is pretty exciting, it’s something that we should all look forward to.”
This will surely be another exciting film to watch out for. Considering it has no less than Lovi Poe and Erich Gonzalez who will both be playing respective lead roles in this “Gulong Ng Palad” movie version.
The two actresses will surely showcase their acting prowess as they are under the tutelage of a prestigious director such as Guillen. It will be refreshing to see Poe and Gonzalez showcase their versatility as thespians.
For sure, they will be pitted against each other in as far as acting is concerned. That alone is a reason for moviegoers to see this film regardless if it’s a remake or a reboot of the old “Gulong Ng Palad” that we all knew.
Another thing is for sure, this “Gulong Ng Palad” film is a promising movie because it’s got an award-winning director at the helm, not to mention good acting performances from lead stars Lovi and Erich.
With someone like Direk Laurice, how can a movie go wrong?
