- Tony Labrusca recently ranted about the attitude of some KathNiel fans on social media.
- According to the Kapamilya actor, he was being bashed by some KathNiel fans; apparently because of his role as a third wheel to Malia and Tristan in “La Luna Sangre”.
- The 21-year-old then deleted his post but netizens were quick to screenshot the controversial post and re-posted it on their respective social media accounts.
- KathNiel, especially Daniel Padilla, on the other hand, supported Tony and appealed to their fans to stop bashing the Canadian actor.
- Kathryn believes that Tony’s effective portrayal of Jake is actually a good boost for “La Luna Sangre”.
Former “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” finalist Tony Labrusca is receiving mixed reactions from “La Luna Sangre” viewers for his portrayal of Jake Arguelles on the said show. Tony’s character serves as a third wheel to Malia and Tristan; and it did not sit well to some KathNiel fans.
In a Facebook post, the 21-year-old said he is “completely appalled by the amount of cyber-bullying going on these days.” He also added, “Being a third party to the KathNiel love team, I know and accept that there will be bashing. However, I do not condone it. Espcially when Kathryn and Daniel are anti cyber-bullying advocates.”
He also questioned these fans who keep on bashing him on social media. “How can KathNiel fans say ‘kathniel or die’ and ‘respeto naman po’ when they do not even understand nor respect what their favorite love team stand for? This amount of hate has got to stop and it starts with me right here, right now,” he pointed out.
The same sentiments were echoed by his fellow “La Luna Sangre” stars Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. During the love team’s interview on July 11 after they were hailed as YES! Magazine’s ‘most beautiful stars’ for 2017, the rumored couple showed their support to Tony.
“I’m sure aware si Tony na mangyayari ‘yun. Kailangan niya tanggapin ‘yun pero kailangan na rin tigil-tigilan ng mga fans. Tigilan niyo,” Daniel said.
The King of Hearts reiterated that the Canadian actor is only doing his job and he should not be attacked. “It’s just a show. Relax lang. Huwag kayo nang-aaway ng mga tao dahil hindi naman sila ‘yun. Character lang nila ‘yun. Relax. Kung nagagalit kayo, effective. Guys please,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Kathryn said that Tony’s good delivery of his role is actually a good boost for their series.
Just recently, CyberSmile Foundation, a non-profit organization, announced through their official Twitter account that their newest ambassadors to fight cyber-bullying is none other than KathNiel. Hence, KathNiels are expected use social media responsibly just like what their idols do.
