While most of the Filipinos mourned over the loss of Sen. Manny Pacquiao in a boxing mtch against his opponent Jeff Horn, it seems like some people were also glad to witness the downfall of the senator.
On his Twitter account, singer Jim Paredes expressed how happy he was now that Pacquiao lost the WBO welterweight title to horn. Paredes tweeted, “Pacquiao lost!” And a brief tweet, “What a great day!”
Paredes then hinted why found Pacquiao’s loss in the boxing ring quite amusing. He said, “You used to unify us. The whole nation. Not anymore. EJK, anti-gay, death penalty got in the way. After you rest, I hope you pay your taxes.”
It could be recalled that Pacquiao was criticized by netizens for his anti-gay statements. The senator even lost his sponsorship with Nike because he compared gay people to animals.
Pacquiao also used Jesus to defend the Death Penalty bill. He claimed that Jesus was killed because of the said bill during the latter’s era.
