- Sexy actress Ellen Adarna posts an inquiry about the ‘beverage tax’ in the country
- She’s concerned about it because Ellen is known as a sweets person
Ellen Adarna recently took to Instagram her curiosity about a supposed bill going on in the Philippines called ‘beverage tax’ or the increasing of the price of carbonated drinks, energy drinks, sweetened tea and coffee, fruit drinks and other similar products.
On Instagram, she wrote: “Has anybody else heard of this new thing they’re trying to push for called the Beverage tax?? Apparently sweetened drinks you normally buy from the grocery and neighborhood stores will be taxed more? That’s new! What else is up with this Beverage Tax, I want to know more… #feelings”
Apparently, this excise tax is already set and will soon charge these products a P10-a-liter hike. It will also apply to powdered juices of the like.
Ellen is known for her love of food especially sweets and beverages.
Finance Undersecretary Karl Kendrick Chua explained why they had to put an excise tax on above-mentioned products, “It is more of a health measure. I understand (Nueva Ecija Rep. Estrellita Suansing) explained it has to be high enough to dissuade consumption.”
