- CNN Philippines axes Gilbert Remullas public affairs show Political Insider
- Gilbert Remulla was involved in a Twitter word war with netizens.
CNN Philippines has reportedly axed its “Political Insider” program hosted by former Cavite Representative Gilbert Remulla.
According to Media Newser Philippines, CNN Philippines have decided to end the four-month-long program by Remulla after he violated their internal code of conduct which stemmed from Remulla’s engaging to a word war with netizens over on Twitter.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Remulla figured in a heated conversation with netizens on Twitter.
In one of his Tweets, Remulla called the netizen a fucking yellow after he was rebuked by the netizen over his view on the President’s unexplained absence.
“Go hide under the rock. Di ka marunong lumaban ng harap harapan. Wala ka pala. Fucking yellow,” Remulla tweeted.
That tweet may have been deleted, but CNN Philippines seemed serious in implementing their code of ethics on their talents thus the decision to sack Remulla and his show.
As of writing, it is still uncertain whether Gilbert Remulla will be retained as CNN Philippine’s resident political analyst, but Media Newser sources think it’s unlikely to happen.
Political Insider premiered last March, and on its 4-month run, it has guested Senators Risa Hontiveros, Bam Aquino, and Sonny Angara. Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Cayetano and former Senator Bongbong Marcos also graced the show. And PCOO Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson also had a chance to be featured as a guest.
