- “Eat Bulaga” will celebrate its 38th year on television — becoming the Philippines’ longest-running noontime-variety show.
- Paolo Ballesteros, one of the show’s hosts, celebrates their milestone and posted it on Instagram.
- “It’s Showtime” host Anne Curtis surprisingly commented on the post, congratulating “Eat Bulaga’s” achievement.
They might be rival in the eyes of their viewers, but for Anne Curtis, “It’s Showtime’s” competition with “Eat Bulaga” is a friendly one.
Paolo Ballesteros, one of “Eat Bulaga’” hosts, especially in the show’s ‘Juan For All, All For Juan’ segment, took to Instagram to post a photo that says “3at 8ulaga” — signaling the 38th year of “Eat Bulaga” on television.
The show will celebrate its 38th year on Philippine television on July 29, 2017 —holding the record of being the longest-running noontime variety program in the history of Philippine television.
Anne then congratulated Paolo by leaving a comment on his Instagram post. She briefly said, “Wow!!! Congrats!!!”
It could be remembered that the two noontime shows had a stiff competition in 2015, and eventually led to downfall of “It’s Showtime” in a short period of time.
That was also the time when “Eat Bulaga” hosts Joey de Leon and Allan K ostensibly lambasted their rival show online, leading to inevitable hatred by most of the members of AlDub Nation towards “It’s Showtime”.
Professionally, for Anne, the competition between them as hosts should not put their friendship into halt.
