As Darna fever starts to roll in, ABS-CBN brings well-loved Pinoy superhero characters back to life with the rollout of its latest and biggest offering to date, the “Ravelo Komiks Superheroes” brand inspired by the creations of the famed komiks writer, the late Mars Ravelo.
This exciting development marks the Kapamilya network’s release of licensed merchandise including shirts, tumblers, and other novelty items, bearing illustrations of favorite “Ravelo Komiks Superheroes” Darna, Lastikman and Captain Barbell. Also among the new products is “Darna at Ang Nawawalang Bato”, a much-awaited card game which will be officially out in stores next month.
The brand launch is also celebrated with the creation of collectible character statues of Captain Barbell, Lastikman, Darna and her supervillain counterpart, Valentina, designed and produced by Halimaw Sculptures.
Aside from said famous characters, succeeding product rollouts will be inspired by other Ravelo Komiks heroes such as Varga, Tiny Tony, Kapitan Boom, and many more.
ABS-CBN held the launch of its latest offering at the recently held Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention (ToyCon) 2017 in SMX. The Kapamilya booth gave visitors a chance to try out the Darna card game, shop for “Ravelo Komiks Superheroes” merchandise, see some Mars Ravelo memorabilia and get a preview of the collectible Pinoy superhero statues.
This generation’s Darna, Liza Soberano, joined the launch and encouraged the attendees to support the legacy of the homegrown comics.
