Two of the biggest Philippine networks are both claiming ratings lead in June 2017.
ABS-CBN on Tuesday, July 4 announced that it has obtained a 46.0% audience share in total day national TV viewership in June 2017, an equivalent of 12% gap versus rival GMA Network which posted 34.0%. ABS-CBN’s data comes from Kantar Media research which has a nationwide coverage, using 2,610 urban and rural panel homes.
Kantar Media uses a nationwide panel size of 2,610 urban and rural homes, which it claims to represent 100% of the total Philippine TV viewing population.
June 2017 ratings boost come from the primetime block (6 p.m. to 12 midnight) which ABS-CBN reported to have reached 50.0% versus GMA Network’s 32%. For the daytime block (6 a.m. to 6pm), ABS-CBN again dominates the competition as it grabbed 43.0% versus GMA’s 31.0% in the morning, 43.0% vs 39.0% in noontime and 44.0% vs 38.0% in the afternoon.
“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” and “La Luna Sangre” were the two top rating show scoring 35.5% and 34.1% national ratings respectively.
On the other hand, GMA claimed they are the number 1 TV network for June 2017 based on AGB Nielsen TV Audience Measurement. GMA Network said it posted a 42.3% average total day people audience versus ABS-CBN’s 37.6%.
GMA also said its total day people audience share reached 49.2% in Urban Luzon, an 18% lead versus the Kapamilya network. Urban Luzon, is said to accounts for 77% of the country’s total urban TV household population.
According to AGB Nielsen data, GMA’s “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” was the top show in Urban Luzon.
