GMA Network has denied that the comedy anthology show “Dear Uge” will be cancelled.
According to a statement issued by GMA Entertainment TV Senior Vice President Lilybeth G. Rasonable said: “Contrary to recent reports, there is no truth that Dear Uge is being replaced by another program. In fact, the show just celebrated its first anniversary and has been consistently winning in the ratings game.”
“Dear Uge” is a comedy-anthology show hosted by veteran comedienne Eugene Domingo. It has been airing for one year and three months.
Veteran entertainment columnist, Lolit Solis, in her Pilipino Star Ngayon column reported that a show to be hosted by actor Alden Richards will be replacing “Dear Uge.”
She also said that the Alden is the top choice to host the Kapuso network’s upcoming show “Textserye.”
However, the following day, Solis posted on her Instagram account said that GMA Network requested that she deleted her post about Alden’s show replacing “Dear Uge.”
Kapuso Executives also told Solis that “Dear Uge” will not be axed and plans for Alden are still in the “drawing board.”
Solis stood by her posts saying that her source is reliable.
“Textserye” is one of the shows which GMA Network had announced during the network’s 2017 program line up and was part of the teaser during last year’s New Year countdown.
