The issue between his rumored breakup with his sumored girlfriend Andrea Torres has yet to subside, but comedian Sef Cadayona has been receiving another backlash on social media. This time, he is being linked to “Eat Bulaga” host Maine Mendoza.
The rumor started when Maine posted series of photos on her Instagram Story that caught the attention of AlDub Nation. These photos, although in black-and-white, might reveal that were taken at the house of Sef.
The Story drew flak from most of Maine’s fans. Some fans, however, showed their support to their idol. They even labeled the rumored lovers as “SefMaine.”
Speaking with entertainment site Pep.ph, the comedian clarified the issue and stressed that he and the Dubsmash diva are only friends.
He added, ““Parang sa amin, sa mga kabigan niya, bakit parang bawal siyang makipagkaibigan?”
Sef also recalled how he and Maine became friends. He revealed, “Sa [Eat] Bulaga… sa Bulaga po talaga kami nagkikita. “Kasi, ‘di ba, ang dalas kong mag-guest nu’n, every Saturday?”
The 28-year-old comedian also emphasized that it was Alden who introduced him to Maine. “Tapos, nandun sila nila Alden (Richards). Ang dalas naming magkakasama,” he said.
Sef also denied the rumor that he is dating the half of AlDub. “Never, never pang nangyari ‘yun,” he stressed. “Magkakaibigan kami at walang malisya kahit na ano. Tropa-tropa,” he continued.
Meanwhile, Maine reminded her fans to refrain from bashing. However, the host turned actress deactivated her Twitter account. Some netizens speculated that it was her fans actions in social media are getting out of hand.
