- Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin’s love team was one of the most popular love team in the 90’s.
- Despite the fact that the two didn’t end up with each other, they have remained very good friends being “kumare and kumpare.”
- The Jolina-Marvin fans are still very much around. They’re all excited for the upcoming film project which the two will be working on from Star Cinema.
- Mark Escueta, Jolina’s husband says he’s a fan of the love team and he doesn’t really have limitations for his wife because he trusts Jolens so much.
It’s been ages since the last time Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin paired in a movie or worked in a project together. This year, the two are set to appear in a Star Cinema-produced film opposite each other.
Jolina’s husband, Mark Escueta [drummer of the rock band Rivermaya] said he’s a great fan of the Mavin-Jolina love team.
Just like any other fan, Mark says he’s excited about the reunion film. “I have no limitations for Jolens [Jolina’s nickname],” Mark said. “I just told her to enjoy and always be thankful for the projects that are coming her way.”
Jolina’s husband had always been very supportive of his wife. He’s never felt jealous of his wife being paired with Marvin even if he knew they used to date back in the 1990’s. “I have high regard for my wife as an individual, I trust her so much. I have this running joke with my band members. When they introduce me during gigs, they would sometimes call me Marvin Agustin. And it’s really no big deal,” Mark revealed.
Mark says he’s good friends with Marvin. Marvin has twins named Santiago and Sebastian with a non-showbiz ex girlfriend. “I also want twins,” declared Jolina. “They say multiple births are possible, especially if this trait runs in your family. Sadly, both Mark and I don’t have it. But I’ve heard that you can increase your chances of having twins through the help of science. I’m very open to that,” says the Magandang Buhay host.
Jolina shares she wish to have as many as five kids. “I don’t know if it’s still possible now [since she’s already 38 years old], so I’m ok with having three. I gave birth to Pele via Caesarian section, that’s why it took me a while to recover. I didn’t start exercising until six months later because I was scared that my C-section incision would reopen.”
Mark and Jolina’s son, Pele is now 3-year-old. They both feel it’s time that he becomes a big brother. “He would often get excited having other babies around. He is very patient and careful around them. When Melai Cantiveros [Jolina’s co-host] was still pregnant with her second child, Pele made sure not to bump her tummy. I take that as a sign that he is ready to have siblings,” shares Jolina.
Both Marvin and Jolina are looking forward to be working again together in a new movie. “Nakakatuwa nga that the fans are still there for us,” Jolina said.
