Kris Aquino is out, Maine Mendoza is in! That’s what Soltero Salazar of Associations of Philippine Advertisers (APA) was pointing out during his interview.
Debuted on television in 2015, Maine Mendoza snatched the crown from Kris Aquino as the Philippines’ “Top Product Endorser.”
It cannot be denied that Ms. Kris (Aquino) has been the favorite of product companies for more than two decades for their advertisements. But apparently, this has not been the case this year,” said Mr. Salazar.
The product marketing expert said that a sudden change of interest from the public to someone is very rare in advertising industry.
He stressed, “Maine Mendoza became a YouTube sensation when impersonated Kris Aquino, and went on to her phenomenal character, Yaya Dub. And now, she is a very effective in product endorsements, and has already appeared in tons of TV commercials.”
Moreover, APA also admitted that the Queen of All Media’s decision to leave ABS-CBN has played a huge factor on why her popularity suddenly deteriorates.
“We must remember that Kris is not anymore with ABS-CBN, and that’s a very huge factor. Unlike Maine, she is now not being seen on national TV. And yes, the talent fee also matters.”
Do you agree with Mr. Salazar’s analysis? If so, should we start calling Maine as the new Queen of All Media from now on? Well, Kris must do something to defend her title.
