Former diva Charice Pempengco now Jake Zyrus revealed in an interview that he had taken female-to-male (FTM) chest reconstruction surgery or most commonly known as breast removal as part of his transitioning.
Jake said in his interview with TV5 that he consulted Dr. Pie Calayan regarding his FTM surgery.
He also said that he felt complete though he has yet to undergo sex transplant as he is currently taking testosterone boosters to develop his masculine features.
“Ngayon, I’m on testosterone, two months. [Yung] injection every three months,” said Jake regarding his testosterone booster use.
The singer also opened up his sentiments about his transitioning. “Masaya ako, pero nahihiya ako. Hindi pa rin kasi ako makapaniwala. Kasi parang dati—and I’m sure madaming makaka-relate na mga transmen there—siyempre kung hindi ka pa nagkakaroon ng bigote, minsan nagdro-drawing ka pa sa mukha mo, kasi yun yung pangarap mo.”
Jake Zyrus admitted recently on his interview with Boy Abunda that his transition was challenging but now he finally feels complete.
He said that he is striving to become an inspiration not only to trans people but to the whole LGBTQIA+ community also.
