- Actress Elizabeth Oropesa is one of the many celebrities known to be a supporter of President Duterte. She had been defending President Duterte from false accusations on her social media accounts from his detractors.
- The actress clarified that she’s not seeking any position in public office.
- She believes it is every Filipino’s duty to support our President in our own way.
- The actress joked that she’s more willing and interested to become President Duterte’s third wife rather than any government position.
Veteran actress Elizabeth Oropesa had always been a staunch supporter of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The actress also clarifies reports that even if she’s very vocal in supporting the President, she’s not seeking any position in the public office.
In fact, according to Elizabeth, President Duterte has offered her a position, but she rejected it.
“I’m afraid of that because I might not be qualified. I do not want to disappoint the President and the Filipino people,” said Elizabeth. The actress also didn’t want to be bashed by President Duterte’s detractors.
“If ever, I accept [a post in the government], that’s because I think I’m qualified to know what to do.“
Elizabeth even jokingly said, ‘she’d rather be the President’s third wife.’
She also relates that the President repeatedly told her who could have claimed to be the ‘third wife’. “Like he said, I could have another first lady. Why not, right?”
“Oh, Kitty [Duterte’s youngest daughter with second wife, Honeylet Avancea] might get angry,,,but I’m willing to be the third wife!,” said the 62-year-old actress.
“Seriously speaking now, I wanted to help the President. I can be there by just being a special assistant to something, but not in showbiz. I would rather be somewhere near DENR, because I’m an advocate for Mother Nature. But if I will be a secretary for DENR, I don’t know anyway,” said Elizabeth.
She had great confidence in Duterte but she also believes that as Filipinos we should also do our part in helping our country. “It’s my view that regardless of who the president is, we should pray for our president to help those in our country.”
