- Darren Espanto makes beautiful music with Malaysian singer Nik Qistina
- The two collaborated for a stripped version of Nik’s hit song, “Young Hearts”
16-year-old teen music sensation Darren Espanto is already on his road to success. Amidst the overflowing opportunities laid before him, he still manages to discover something new for his career.
Malaysian singer Nik Qistina is a star on the rise currently making her name shine and known around the world. Her original hit “Young Hearts” already gained more than 1 million Spotify plays and 532,000 plus views in her Vevo Channel. This just goes to show that this young girl is the next big thing.
The two combined their sound and made a stripped-down version of Nik’s single. They also joined forces for “My Baby and Me” which is Darren’s own single in his new album “Be With Me.”
Yesterday at their Press Conference in Marco Polo Ortigas, Darren and Nik shared how was it like working with each other and gave us some sample performances.
“I wanted to do an acoustic version of ‘Young Hearts’ with someone who loves the song as much as I do,” Nik says. “I was really honored to find out that he felt that way about it too. After I listened to Darren’s breakthrough hit ‘Stuck,’ I was convinced he was the perfect person to sing with on an acoustic version of ‘Young Hearts.'”
As for Darren, he sees this collaboration as a step-up in his music growth.
“For me, collaborating on this new version of ‘Young Hearts’ with Nik is something out of the box because I’m used to always belting and keeping my energy high when I perform, but on this song I got to show my more hcill yet powerful side.”
Their version is arranged by MCA Music’s A&R Francis Guevarra. Both ‘Young Hearts’ and ‘My Baby and Me” are now available on Spotify and Darren’s deluxe edition of “Be With Me” album.
