- Maalaala Mo Kaya host Charo Santos-Concio was recently asked on her reaction on the controversy surrounding the recent episode on the life of beauty queen Piz Wurtzbach.
- The ABS-CBN executive was firmed in saying that the MMK team made sure to get the story from Pia herself. What they had shown was based on Pia’s story and she said they respected her story.
- Pia’s half-brother and her father’s partner lambasted Pia on how her late father was shown on the said episode.
ABS-CBN executive and “Maalaala Mo Kaya” host Charo Santos-Concio recently spoke about the issue on the recent “MMK” episode on the life story of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.
In an interview, Concio said the “MMK” staff made sure to get the account of Pia’s life straight from the beauty queen herself.
“We talked to Pia, MMK talked to Pia. That’s her story so we respect her story,” Concio said.
The said “MMK” episode were sparked with controversies exactly a day after the said episode was aired with Pia’s half-brother and her father’s partner criticized how her late father, Uwe Wurtzbach was depicted in the episode.
Robie Asingua and her son Alexander Wurtzbach turned to Facebook to lambast Pia, calling her a “liar” after seeing the MMK episode entitled “Korona.”
Asingua criticized Wurtzbach for allegedly lying about her father, who passed away several years ago. Asingua claims Wurtzbach’s father never asked money from her at all. The “MMK” episode showed Wurtzbach’s father calling her after her stint on Binibining Pilipinas to seek financial help for his medication.
“What a hell are you doing Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, making a false story oh yeah you are a big liar your papa never ask money from you, shame to yourself…Your mama got an affair with neighbor name Jojo, that’s why papa abandoned your mother and you pretty wow know that all,” she said, unedited.
For his part, Alexander also called Wurtzbach a liar, insisting she should just stop using their father’s surname.
“Sa lahat lahat ayaw ko yung sisiraan mo ang patay na.wala ng kinalaman yun eh. Karmahin sana kayo parang walang pinagaralan. Wag mung dadalahin ang apelyedo na yan kung alam mo ganyan ugali ng tatay mo,” he wrote, in verbatim.
The statements of the mother and son did not sit well with Pia’s sister Sarah who responded to Alexander through the comments section of his post.
Sarah also mentioned that the family did not have to pay for their father’s funeral and that they didn’t share the same values as Robie and Alexander. “Iniwan na nga kami, kami pa ang magpapakain sa inyo at magpapaburol? ‘Di ba kayo na? Family nyo na? May right pa kayong magalit? Tsk, tsk, tsk!”

“Just because we share the same surname, it doesn’t mean we share the same values. Sometimes we have to accept that blood is not thicker than water,” added Sarah on her social media post.
Sarah was also quoted to have said: “Baka gusto mong kalkalin ko yung mga message nyo ng nanay mo sa amin. Baka mapahiya ka. Tigil na kasi, ayan na fame oh! EMBRACE IT!”
Wurtzbach is currently in New York and she hasn’t said anything regarding the said issue.
