They say that our greatest dream as fan is to meet our idol and have a selfie with them — just like what Anne Curtis really wanted to do with her idol Gong Yoo. But what if you suddenly died before you fulfill that dream? Well, for Anne, it was never too late to grant the wish of her fan despite the fact that the latter was not aware that her idol paid visit to her funeral.
A cancer patient named Carlota “Alot” Alegre was a big fan of Anne.
Prior to her death, Christian Jed, her older brother, had been constantly documenting her condition through Facebook. Until one unfortunate day, Alot passed away.
As a loving brother, Christian wanted to fulfill even at least one of Alot’s wishes when she was alive — to see the “It’s Showtime” host and take picture with her.
On June 8, two days after Alot’s death, Christian appealed to his Facebook friends and followers to share his post, wishing for Anne’s presence at the wake of his sister.
He wrote, “Sana may chance na madalaw ni Anne Curtis si alot ngayon sa burol nya. Sobrang Idol nya kasi to sobra! Walang naman mawawala kung susubukan, Please share this hanggang sa mapansin ng idol nya! Thankyou guys.”
The post has garnered more than 7 thousand likes and 6 thousand shares — enough numbers to reach Anne.
Amidst her busy schedule, the Kapamilya star did not fail to fulfill Christian’s wish. In fact, the 32-year-old host messaged Alot’s brother through Twitter in the morning of June 9. Anne said via Twitter message, “Hi Christian. I’ll be able to come over to visit Charlotte after Showtime. See you later.”
At around 6pm of the same day, Christian happily shared his family’s moment with Anne. The Kapamilya actress can be seem wearing the dress she used during the live coverage of “It’s Showtime” on that same day.
Christian posted: “She came!!!!! For sure napakasaya mo alot. Di tayo binigo ni Anne curtis napaka bait nya! Sobrang thankyou Anne curtis!!
“Lord god youre the best!! Thankyou to all the people who help us and spare a second to share my post it wont be possible without each of you! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! #MMK #Bucketlist #Wishgranted”
Anne was seen beside Alot’s body together with her family. She even sent flowers to show her condolence to the family of Alot. The “Buy Bust” star then offered a prayer to Alot with Christian and his mom.
Meanwhile, Anne thanked her followers for informing her about Christian’s post. She posted on Twitter: “You were an instrument to making all of this happen. I’m sure your bunso is one happy angel…Your love as a kuya has moved me so deeply.”
Although Alot never had the chance to complete her bucket list, her family will forever treasure Anne’s concern towards their bunso nonetheless.
