A certain post of actress Aiko Melendez circulated on social media, that eventually shocked the Kapamilya fans, especially the avid viewers of “Wildflower”.
On June 7, the 41-year-old posted a photo of flowers sent to her by “Wildflower” team. According to the actress, she encountered a minor injury during her emotional scene with actress Maja Salvador.
She revealed on the caption: “All for the love of our craft to give our viewers what they deserve, sadly i got into a minor accident which cause me pain my right eye, AND di naman sinasadya out of our emotional scene my right eye got compromised which led to blood clot and mapapanuod nila yan later in our episode.”
How did she got injured was a mystery — until the episode, titled “Salpukan”, was aired later that evening. It turned out that Maja accidentally scratched Aiko’s right eye during their confrontation scene.
The two actresses’ characters had an intense catfight that led to an apparent reality. Maja accidentally scratched the right eye of Aiko, making it more reddish compared to the other one.

RSB Drama Unit, the business unit that handles the production fro “Wildflower”, posted a photo of Aiko’s right eye on its official Twitter account.
They wrote on the caption: “WILD FACT: Para patunayang totohanan ang labanan aksidenteng natusok ng kuko ang mata ni Aiko while doing the cake scene with Maja. Intense!”
Aiko then reposted RSB Drama Unit’s tweet on her Instagram account and wrote: “#theaftermath But Happy that we were able to give you a beautiful episode awhile ago 🙂 Thank you for watching #wildflower As promised season 2 will be bolder, wilder! Dont worry guys im a bit better now :)”
Aiko defends Maja
On the same post, dated June 7, Aiko insisted that the accident was not Maja’s fault. In fact, the veteran actress revealed how sweet and concern Maja towards her after she got her eye injured.
She continued, “Baby girl @iammajasalvador i know it was an accident tlaga and di mo sadya but i felt the genuine concern and love for me, your sweet messages and your constant care for me made me love you even more 🙂 I love you babygirl pls know that i will never ever take it against you coz saw your reaction and your sleepless nights aww it breaks my heart, But just the same i dont love you less!!! Thank you.”
She also posted a photo of herself with Maja, shutting down rumors that they were not okay after the intense confrontation scene. She write on the caption: “See we love each other No truth sa rumor na di kami ok 🙂 infact i love her even more. Ivy and Emilia. Baby girl and I in real life.”
