- Change of plans according to Ai-Ai delas Alas and fiancé Gerald Sibayan
- The couple decided to move their wedding to an earlier date
52-year-old Comedy Queen Ai Ai delas Alas said yes to her fiancé Gerald Sibayan’s marriage proposal just this April and their original plan was to wed on 2018.
They changed their mind about this after having to meet Most Rev. Antonio Tobias in his Office in Novaliches, Quezon City yesterday, June 7.
After talking to the Bishop individually, Ai Ai and Gerald now considers tieing the knot earlier than planned.
“Nakipag-meeting kami kay Bishop Tobias tungkol sa pagpapakasal namin ni Gerald.
“Gusto ko kasi na alam ng simbahan ang mga plano ko dahil Papal Awardee nga ako.
“Kung ako kasi ang tatanungin, gusto ko na magpakasal muna kami ni Gerald sa Huwes, pero sa simbahan ang gusto niya.
“Solo na kinausap ni Bishop Tobias si Gerald, then ako.
“Pagkatapos, sabay kami na kinausap, at nakapasa naman kami.
“Pinayuhan kami ni Bishop Tobias na huwag na kaming magpakasal sa Huwes, diretso na sa simbahan dahil nakapasa si Gerald sa mga itinanong sa kanya.
“Si Bishop din ang nagsabi na magpakasal na kami ngayong taon, huwag nang patagalin pa, kaya susundin namin ang payo niya.” the comedian said.
The two are now picking dates for their wedding which would be held in a church in Quezon City. Many suggested that they take September 8, the birth anniversary of Blessed Virgin Mary, since she’s a Marian Devotee. December 8 is also an option because it’s the Feast of Immaculate Conception.
They are also considering November 11, Ai Ai’s birthdate and also the day she was awarded the Papal Award by the Catholic Church.
