Binibining Pilipinas candidate number 13 Sirene Sutton caught the attention of netizens and audiences last night.
Sirene, who was an early favorite to win the national pageant, failed to give an answer during the competition’s question-and-answer portion.
During the segment, Sirene was asked if she thinks it is right for parents to demand support from their children in exchange for raising them.
Sirene initially answered “no” before asking the judge to repeat the question
For her second try, Sirene changed her mind and said “yes.” She, however, immediately said “no” again without explaining her answer until her time was up.
Speaking exclusively to ABS-CBN News after the pageant, Sirene admitted that her nerves got the best of her.
She admitted, “Oo kinabahan ako. I was so nervous and I didn’t understand the question. I didn’t understand it properly, maybe it was my nerves and the pressure.”
Although she didn’t take home any crown, Sirene remains thankful to everyone who supported throughout her journey as a Binibining Pilipinas candidate.
“I just want to thank everyone who supported me. My friends, family and supporters. Probably, it wasn’t my night, but who knows?” she said.
Moreover, she was asked if she will join the beauty pageant again. She briefly said: “We’ll see.”
