In a sudden turn of events, Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2017 Katarina Rodriguez has expressed she may not accept her crown.
Earlier today, May 2, a Facebook page dedicated to beauty pageants, The Philippine Pageantry, posted a cryptic photo that says, “Expect a shake-up that will break your hearts. It broke ours.”
The post suddenly spreaded like a wildfire, and was picked up by another page Pageantology 101. According to the page’s post, Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) has held an immediate meeting for dethronement or switching of title or crown.
According to simultaneous Twitter post by CNN Philippines, BPCI will be waiting for Katarina’s formal letter pf resignation until May 2. Moreover, the reason of this unfortunate event is still unknown.
Meanwhile, BPCI has yet to release a formal statement regarding this issue.
Katarina speaks up
Moments after the news broke out, Katarina clarified that she will not resigning as the newly crowned Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental.
She wrote,“I never made any announcements that I’m not accepting the crown? Is it alright if everyone refrains from making assumptions first.
“And maybe think it’s been two days since coronation which I obviously enjoyed so much. It was one of if not the funnest things I’ve done.”
