Bacoor Mayor Lani Mercado shocked the Twitterverse when she erroneously tweeted about the death of Ilocos Norte 2nd District Representative Imelda Marcos.
At around 10pm on May 7, Lani tweeted: “Our condolences to the Marcos Family. It is a pleasure to work with Cong. Imelda Romualdez Marcos.”
The post, however, was deleted by Lani after several minutes. But a certain Pinoy Ako Blog was able to capture it and shared to its Twitter followers.
Lani immediately apologized for her mistake and admitted that she “received a news break message informing the public about Mrs. Marcos.”
Netizens’ reactions in the issue were mixed, while some others just poked fun on it.
On the other hand, GMA News reported that Imee Marcos, the daughter of Imelda, said that the latter is still alive.
