Now that “Destined to Be Yours” is finally over, what could be Maine Mendoza’s opinion regarding her experience in her first-ever teleserye?
Well, for Maine, acting is not really meant for her. During her interview, the Dubsmash Queen admitted she does not see herself as an actress.
She shared, “Okay naman po yung first teleserye experience ko. Pero feeling ko, hindi talaga ako para rito, sa serye.”
The Kayeserye star also revealed that she was reluctant to act in a series. She said, “Yes po, noong una po, ayoko talaga. Pero sabi nga nila, para ma-experience ko kung gusto ko ba o hindi.
“After naman po ng nangyari, parang gitna pa rin ako,” meaning, her “Destined to Be Yours” experience with onscreen partner Alden Richards did not boost nor lessen her willingness to do another series.
The “Eat Bulaga” host revealed her interest to enrich her skills in hosting. “Parang mas gusto ko pong i-hone yung hosting ko instead po sa acting. Pero siyempre, iba pa rin naman po kapag nag-try ka ng ibang field dito sa showbiz. Pero malay rin naman po natin, eventually,” she added.
Although “Destined to Be Yours” is over, Maine remains thankful, not just because of the good things she experienced during their tapings but also she noticed her improvement as an actress.
The 22-year-old claimed, “Kasi nakita rin po ng iba, mula sa “Imagine You & Me”, mula po sa movie na ginawa namin ni Alden, kahit paano, nag-improve naman po ako and yun na lang po ang thankful po ako.”
After “Destined to Be Yours”, Maine and Alden will be doing their next film together in Europe. Also, Jenny Ferre of TAPE Inc. also hinted the possible return of the once phenomenon Kalyeserye on television.
