- Kim Soo Hyun revealed that this is the second time he’s been to the Philippines. His first visit was when he was still very young.
- The 29-year-old drama actor was in town to grace the launching of Samsung TV brand’s latest innovation.
- Kim Soo Hyun is best known for portraying the role of Do Min Joon or Mateo Do, an alien trapped on Earth in the hit TV series My Love From The Star.
- Incidentally, the Philippine adaptation of “My Love From The Star” will be airing on Monday, May 29 on GMA Network which is top-billed by Jennylyn Mercado and newcomer Gil Cuerva.
Korean drama fans were happy to know that Korean superstar Kim Soo Hyun recently visited the country to make a special appearance in a launch. Filipino fans were delighted to know that this isn’t the first time that the actor has visited the Philippines.
“I came here in the Philippines when I was young to travel and now I’ve got this opportunity to be here again [for the event],” he said with the help of a translator.
The Korean actor also expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome he has received from fans across the country as well as the support he’s been getting. “And I hope I would spend a great time here,” he added.
Soo Hyun is known for his portrayal of the role of Don Min Joon or Matteo Do, the alien trapped on Earth in the hit Korean drama series “My Love From The Star.” He was paired opposite with Jun Ji Hyun who played the role of Cheon Seong Yi or Steffi Cheon.

Incidentally, the Philippine adaptation of “My Love From The Star” will be making its pilot episode on GMA Network this Monday, May 29, featuring Kapuso star Jennylyn Mercado as Steffi Chavez and newcomer Gil Cuerva as Matteo Do [playing the character originally portrayed by Soo Hyun in the Korean version].
Aside from “My Love From The Star,” Soo Hyun were also best remembered for other hit Korean dramas such as “The Producers,” “Moon Embracing the Sun,” and “Dream High.”
Currently, Soo Hyun is busy promoting his latest film, “Real.” It’s scheduled to be released next month, June 2017.
