Ai Ai delas Alas recalls the days she almost gave up on her showbiz career

Comedy Queen Ai Ai delas Alas recently admitted that she had almost given up on her showbiz career.

“Three or four years ago, dumaan ako sa maraming pagsubok.

She tried on reflecting her life and figure out what went wrong. So, masamang kwestyunin si Lord, di ba? Ano’ng nagawa kong masama, ba’t nangyayari sa akin ‘to?,” relates an emotional Ai Ai.

‘And then, eto ‘yung sagot.

She was totally on the brink of giving up everything that means so much to her especially her career. She admitted she wanted to leave the country for good at the time and settle in the United States.

Until ipinatawag ako ng APT [Tony Tuviera’s production], nakipag-usap si Boy [Abunda] sa APT and the rest, they say is history, napunta na ako sa GMA 7,” said the Comedy Queen.

At the time, Boy Abunda [her manager] knew her plans on quitting showbiz for good. “Alam niyang ayaw ko na. Pero sabi niya sakin, ‘Bilang manager mo at kaibigan, naniniwala ako sa’yo. Naniniwala ako sa kakayahan mo. Ayokong huminto ka kasi marami ka pang ilalabas.”’

Ai Ai admits she lost confidence in herself and in what she’s capable of doing.

The Comedy Queen also acknowledges her fans and followers.

Ai Ai says she will forever be grateful to those people who stood by her during her lowest moment in her life. “It was the most crucial times, yet marami ang naniwala at tumulong sa akin para manatili ako dito sa showbusiness.”

Ai Ai is one celebrity who’s known for having such a big heart. She deserves whatever success she is reaping right now after all the things she went through. With the recent awards and merits that she had received, her latest film Our Mighty Yaya was also warmly accepted by the public, Ai Ai truly deserves a spot in the showbiz industry.

“I’m thankful that thru the success of Our Mighty Yaya, ipinakita sa akin ng fans na may nagmamahal at tumatangkilik pa rin sa aking mga pelikula na akala ko dati ay wala na,” she ends.
