Kara David recently proved that she is really a certified Kapuso.
A 20-year-old sea urchin diver named Joselito Padilla finished college with a degree in BS Marine Transport at the PIMSAT Colleges.
Ten years ago, in 2007, GMA Network’s “I-Witness” featured a young Joselito whose a fourth grader honor student. However, his daily live depended on his daily harvest of sea urchins with his family.
According to the award-winning documentary, Joselito with his family only earned ₽80 to ₽100 per day. Fortunately, he was chosen as one of Kara’s fifteen scholars.
Joselito’s graduation photo was uploaded by Kara’s “Project Malasakit” on Facebook. It was an instant hit and has garnered more than 144 thousand likes and over 23 thousand shares.
The proud graduate even shared the journalist’s post and wrote: “Napakabilis lumipas ng panahon 10 years na agad ang nakalipas. Thank you mam Kara Patria Constantino David sa 10 years na pagtulong po ninyo sa akin.”
Joselito then thanked the donors of the projects.
In the end, Joselito, just proved that anyone could become the person they want as long as they “keep swimming”, just like what Dory says.
