Will it ever be possible to make friends with your ex boyfriend?
Actress Kim Chiu was able to prove that yes, it’s possible! On the media launch of ABS-CBN’s Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin, Kim Chiu admitted it felt awkward to be working again with Gerald Anderson who happened to be her ex boyfriend and former love team.
But the scenes needed more rapport.
“Maraming naganap na hindi maganda in the past, so hindi maiiwasan yung magkailangan. We tried testing the waters sa Maalaala Mo Kaya episode, before doing Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin. Personally, masaya ako na nagkaroon kami ng opportunity to work together. It’s a gift from God na makasama siyang muli.”
Kim admitted it was her who broke the ice during the shoot.
Kim also said that a big part of the healing process for her was forgiveness. She knew it wouldn’t be possible for them to be working together again if she hasn’t forgiven him for everything that’s happened in their past. The best thing to do is to forgive the person and just move on with your life. That’s what exactly what Gerald and I did. Mas masaya kami ngayon,” she explained.
For Kimerald fans, catch Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin daily starting on May 1, Monday before “It’s Showtime” on ABS-CBN.
