GMA Network’s upcoming series “My Love From the Star”, which is the remake of the Korean series of the same name, will be aired on primetime soon. And according to its main star Jennylyn Mercado, who will play the role of Steffi Cheon, this is by far her most difficult project.
“Ngayon lang ako gagawa ng medyo light na show, ibang genre naman,” she said.
“Kahit sabihin kong masaya ko, yung loob niya, umiiyak.
“So very challenging siya para sa akin.”
According to the report by entertainment site PEP.ph, the Kapuso Ultimate Star feels the pressure due to the popularity of the original version of “My Love From the Star” across the country.
She explained, “Kasi gusto naming ma-meet ang expectation ng mga tao.
“Sana kapag umere, matuwa sila. Sana maka-relate sila.
“Sana hindi nila ma-compare… well, kung iku-compare man nila, sana in a positive way.”
The 29-year-old also revealed that she feels nervous to be compared to Korean actress Jun Ji-hyun.
“Oo! Sobra! Kasi napakagaling nung original artist,” she admitted.
Directed by Joyce Bernal, the series is rumored to be replacing the AlDub series “Destined to Be Yours” on in May.
