GMA 7 headwriter and creative consultant Suzette Doctolero was put on a hot seat recently after she bravely validated that AlDub’s Destined To Be Yours afternoon series was a flop in its first three weeks.
She turned to Twitter and confirmed this to the public which has earned her bashers and negative comments from AlDub’s legions of fans. In fact, they have also started a petition on change.org to dismiss her from her position as “creative consultant.”
Doctolero has released her statement about her controversial tweet involving the TV series of Alden Richards-Maine Mendoza love team last April 24. She’s sorry for what she has done. She wrote (published as it is), “Wrong choice of words, And for that, I’m sorry that I’ve maligned my own show. Not my intention. I admit, I am not good in dealing with the bashers.”
“No further statement. Ready na ako sa consequences. Before this stupidity, I hope I’ve served my network well. Thanks.”
Due to what has happened, Doctolero had also changed her Twitter account from public to private after exchanging unsavory tweets with the AlDub fans.
GMA senior vice president for Drama Miss Lilybeth G. Rasonable clarifies that the GMA management is happy with the ratings of the said AlDub teleserye. With regards to Doctolero, “Her tweets are her personal opinions and not those of the network. We will deal with her privately.”
In a recent news by Balita.net.ph columnist Reggee Bonoan, Doctolero said she hasn’t talked with Ms. Rasonable yet. “Not yet, I’m sure she will. I’m actually not looking forward to it. She’s mabait and motherly but you know how all mothers are when they get mad, they’re still scary!”
She might be suspended and would definitely reprimanded for what she has done but Doctolero says she’s ready for whatever sanctions the management will be giving her.
