Kapamilya actor Daniel Padilla is in hot water right now.
The 22-year-old recently celebrated his birthday in Japan with his rumored girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo.
Entertainment site Fashion Pulis provided an alleged screenshot and video of a guy who is shaking a cherry blossom tree, which is apparently prohibited in Japan.
The video, however, is blurry and doesn’t show Daniel’s face. However, most of Fashion Pulis’ anonymous readers still expressed their anger and disappointment towards the actor.
Additionally, some blogsites have already picked up the news and immediately claimed that the guy in the video was indeed Daniel.
For example, a certain site called Philnews provided a website to “attest in an article that doing such act (shaking a cherry blossom tree) is prohibited in [Japan].”
The article says: “The website also quoted a statement courtesy of Jeffrey Miller, Director of Education and Family Programs at the Japan Society.
“‘This probably goes without saying, but the unspoken ‘don’t’ is [that] there is to be no disruption of the tree; shaking, climbing, picking of the blossoms,’ the director said.”
Meanwhile, the “Can’t Help Falling in Love” actor has yet to speak on the issue.
UPDATE: On the other hand, Daniel’s aunt, Ana Marie Liza Lim, defended the actor via a Facebook comment. According to her, the residents on the park allowed Daniel to shake the Sakura tree. She also advised the fans to refrain from engaging themselves on the issue.
