If “laughter is the best medicine” then CineMo’s “Funny Ka, Pare Ko” is the best brand of it. The show has been named Best Comedy Program in this year’s Gawad Tanglaw Awards.
Given out annually by the Gawad Tanglaw Foundation, a group of academics from various schools and universities, the Gawad Tanglaw Awards recognizes exceptional work in the film and television industry.
“Malaking karangalan ang makilala ng mga guro at mga propesyonal sa akademiya. Patunay lang na may tunay na mga aral sa tunay na buhay ang makukuha sa aming pinaghihirapang ialay sa mga Pilipino. Magiging inspirasyon namin ‘to para patuloy na magpasaya ng mga tao,” said Funny Ka, Pare Ko star Karla Estrada.
The show is already on its third season and as a final hurrah, the Delyons—Karla and Bayani’s family—are in Baguio for a comedy-horror adventure befitting the city known for strawberries, horseback riding, and ghost sightings.
Bigboy, Carla, and Jay-R Delyon (Bayani Agbayani, Karla Estrada, and Igi Boy Flores) are vacationing in the City of Pines along with the Komikeros. They end up staying in the same transient home as Barbie (Ysabel Ortega), and her parents, Therso and Downa Cruz (Epy Quizon and Nikki Valdez), OFWs who are back home to celebrate her graduation. Suspense and thrills are added to the mix as the home may have other inhabitants. Mysterious homeowner, Mang Simon (Gerald Acao) adds to the creepiness.
The season three finale will air this Sunday, 5 PM, on CineMo, channel 3 on ABS-CBN TVPlus. Watch out for the fourth season of this award-winning show in June.
