And the ratings are out, Kapamilya shows dominated the weekend ratings game.
In the latest AGB Nielsen NUTAM People ratings release covering April 7 – 9, 2017, Kapamilya shows proved to be the people’s choice during the weekend.
“Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids” which had their Grand Showdown over the weekend topped the weekend programming making it the overall number 1 program on Saturday and Sunday (April 8 and 9).
The 2-day YFSF Kids Grand Showdown held at the Resorts World Manila which named Awra Briguela as the Grand Winner scored 10.8% and 11.4% ratings respectively to beat rival Kapuso programs.
YFSF’s success also boosted MMK’s ratings as it beats rival “Magpakailanman”. MMK which features Ms. Lorna Tolentino and Alexa Ilacad climbed to the number 2 spot on Saturday with 10.4% ratings, 0.7% higher than “Magpakailanman’s” 9.7%.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Kris Aquino’s TV comeback was underwhelming as it failed to beat Kapamilya counterparts “I Can Do That” and “Gandang Gabi Vice”. Kris Aquino’s “Trip Ni Kris” aired on GMA Network only managed to get a meager 3.7% ratings which fell on the number 10 position.
“I Can Do That” which coincides with the 1st part of Trip Ni Kris airtime got 5.5% rating good for the number 8 spot and “Gandang Gabi Vice” which features the Top 3 Tawag ng Tanghalan winners Noven Belleza, Sam Mangubat and Froilan Canlas got 4.2% to settle for 9th in Sunday’s Top 10.
