ABS-CBN has enjoyed a significant boost in TV ratings with the help of ABS-CBN TVplus, the country’s first digital terrestrial television product, which has already sold 2.6 million units since its launch in 2015.
According to data from Kantar Media, ABS-CBN’s audience share in Mega Manila increased to 36% in 2017, compared to 30% in 2015, as more households are able to experience crystal clear viewing experience with ABS-CBN TVplus. ABS-CBN’s ratings in Mega Manila also rose to 14% from 11% in 2015.
ABS-CBN TVplus’ promise of clear picture and as well as additional premium channels with no monthly fees also enticed consumers, having penetrated up to 26% of the C2D homes in 2017.
The news was shared with advertisers in the ABS-CBN trade event titled “Ikaw ang Sunshine Ko Isang Pamilya Tayo” held last Thursday (Mar 30), which showed the increasing demand of viewers for TVplus boxes.
Meanwhile, the trade event also showcased the newest ABS-CBN teleseryes that viewers should watch out for in the coming months. Teen King and Queen Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo are set to return to television in fantasy-series “La Luna Sangre.” The most-awaited comeback of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson, meanwhile, will be witnessed in “Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin.”
Also part of the newest offerings of the Kapamilya network are drama series “Kung Kailangan Mo Ako,” starring Janella Salvador and Elmo Magalona, and “Pusong Ligaw” with Beauty Gonzales and Bianca King.
ABS-CBN still remains as the true of home Asianovelas as Korean dramas “Legend of the Blue Sea,” “Goblin,” “Weightlifting Fairy,” “Hwarang,” “Doctor Crush,” and “W” bring kilig to viewers.
Fans can also look forward to the return of reality shows “Bet On Your Baby” hosted by Judy Ann Santos and “The Voice Teens” with coaches Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, and Sharon Cuneta.
