Ten of the best singers from Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao are giving their all to fight for their families and keep their dreams alive in the highly anticipated grand finals of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” on “It’s Showtime.”
“Ang Huling Tapatan” began on Monday (March 6) and comes to an exciting conclusion on Saturday (March 11) at Resorts World Manila, where the first-ever “Tawag ng Tanghalan” grand champion will be named.
Every day, the competition will declare a winner among a set of grand finalists, but the Friday winner will only be announced on Saturday. On Saturday, the five daily winners will battle it out and woo the hurados and the madlang people.
After more than a year of scouring the country for talented singers, “Tawag ng Tanghalan” has drawn loyal viewers and fans, who have rooted for and shown their all-out support for their favorite grand finalists. The singing champions have also bared not only their talent but also the stories and motivations behind their dreams.
Quarter 1’s grand finalists have had a year to prepare for the vocal showdown, and they are not backing down against their challengers. Pagadian’s Maricel Callo, who sings in restaurants and hotels with her husband, wants to give her kids a better future. Laguna’s Mary Gidget Dela Llana, meanwhile, dedicates her success to her mom who raised her alone.
Making the most of the second chance given to them are Quarter 2 grand finalists Marielle Montellano, a voice actress from Cebu, and Pauline Agupitan, a student from Batangas, who both returned for revenge after failing to make an impression the first time they joined the competition.
Band vocalist Eumee Capile of Bulacan also did not give up on her dreams after having joined several singing contests. Farmer Noven Bellaza of Negros Occidental is starting to make it big after initially joining “Tawag ng Tanghalan” to pay for home repairs.
Sam Mangubat, a YouTube sensation from Batangas, overcame his shyness and did not let his lack of experience in competing stop him from sharing his talent with the world. Carlmalone Montecido of Bacolod, meanwhile, continues to give inspiration despite his condition and show the madlang people that anyone can succeed.
Completing the ten grand finalists are the ‘ultimate resbakers’: Froilan Canlas, a music teacher from Camarines Sur, who is ready to risk it all to reach his dream, and Rachel Gabreza, a saleslady from Makati, who returned to the competition to help his cancer-stricken brother.
Who will give the most impressive set of performances? Whose life will be changed forever?
