Have you ever experienced general fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness and fast or irregular heartbeat? Do you have strange cravings to eat items that aren’t food, such as dirt, ice, or clay? Hey, maybe you have iron deficiency anemia!
Anemia occurs when the level of red blood cells in our blood is lower than normal. Iron deficiency anemia is the most common type of anemia. It occurs when our body doesn’t have enough iron.
Our body needs iron to make a protein called hemoglobin. This protein is responsible for carrying oxygen to our body’s tissues, why is essential for our muscle to function effectively.
However, pregnancy or blood loss due to menstruation, internal bleeding or inadequate iron intake might be the causes of this type of anemia.
Unfortunately, when there isn’t enough blood in your blood stream, the rest of the body can’t get the amount of energy it needs.
Luckily, anyone can treat it with proper diet, exercise and right intake of iron supplements such as Sangobion Iron+ which is organic and has benefited lots of Filipinos for more than 30 years. Of course, having a constant blood test will also help you fight this type of anemia.
You can also go to Mall of Asia Music Hall on April 8 for the biggest blood health event of the year. There you will see if your blood has right amount of iron to make hemoglobin. You can also donate your blood if you ever qualify.
Finally, after the blood health event, Sarah Geronimo will perform onstage to prove that she is anemia free despite her busy schedules. And remember, the concert is FREE. Wala kang babayaran!
This blood health event is a joint project of Red Cross and Sangobion Iron+ Philippines.
