Papa Jack, or Papa J rather, finally signed contracts with Energy FM on March 17. The renowned DJ will be heard on the popular station starting tomorrow, March 20.
He said at the contract signing event that he is very happy to be part of Energy FM.
“I want to tell everyone na ‘yung pinagdaanan ko ng tatlong buwan na makahanap ng bagong istasyon, bagong amo, bagong katrabaho… na I’m very happy. Masayang-masaya po ako.”
The 36-year-old also promised he will bring back the trust that Energy FM has given to him. Papa J then explained why he is so thankful to his new found home.
“Alam n’yo, pagdating ko pa lang sa Energy, may office ako. May bookshelf ako. May sarili din akong computer,” elaborated.
“I never had these things for 12 years,” he added.
Papa J further explained, “Energy FM gave me a free hand to stay in this station.”
Meanwhile, he said he was not able to use his former DJ name, Papa Jack, because it was licensed under Manila Broadcasting Company which owns Love Radio.
“I would have used the ‘Papa Jack’ po if I’ll be allowed.
“But it was licensed ng Manila Broadcasting Company, so nasa kanila po ‘yung lisensya nu’n,” he explained.
The DJ then continued, “Nilesensya po nila ‘yung Papa Jack, Papa John, ginawa nila. It’s an intellectual property.”
He also quipped, “Ang pangalang pinagpilian ko dati… Papa J o Papa Q kaso parang bastos ang Papa Q kaya Papa J na lang.”
Meanwhile, Papa J’s ‘soldiers’ are ready to tune in to Energy FM on March 20 from 9pm to 1am as he will introduce his new program “Hello… S.T.G: Sorry, Thank You, Goodbye”.
