Iza Calzado has proven her versatility as an actress once again!
The Kapamilya star stunned many as she won the Yakushi Pearl Award for Best Performer at the recently concluded Osaka Asian Film Festival (OAFF).
Iza’s role for her film “Bliss” was the one who brought her to the momentous event.
The 34-year-old couldn’t help but to show her gratitude as she received the significant award.
On her Instagram, Iza thanked her “Bliss” team and her director Jerrold Tarog. She also revealed that she auditioned to get her role. And when she finally got the role that she wanted, the actress got sick twice.
“The role was very physically and emotionally demanding; especially when you’re on set for almost 24 hours,” she said on her post.
She then thanked ABS-CBN, her “A Love to Last” team, several personal friends, relatives and the Almighty on her post.
Finally, Iza hopes she can continue to make Filipinos proud.
Meanwhile, the Kapamilya actress instantly earned additional fans overseas upon arriving in Japan.
According to CNN Philippines, a large group of Japanese fans blurted out “Iza Calzado!” as they walked towards the actress. The crowd patiently waited for their turn to have their OAFF program signed. They also got a chance to take selfie with Iza.
