CNN Philippines president Armie Jarin-Bennett announced a new line-up of news program that will surely patronized by more Filipinos across the country.
To start a year with a bang, the network launched its second newscast in Tagalog titled “Newsroom Ngayon”. It has debuted on February 6 and is anchored by Senior Correspondent Ruth Cabal.
The program is also the first CNN Philippines show that airs live on Facebook—a rendezvous for majority of Filipinos.
On March 1, CNN Philippines has debuted “Global Newsroom” anchored by Chief Correspondent Pia Hontiveros.
Plus, Claire Celdran has returned to “New Day” replacing Amelyn Veloso who has gone on medical leave. She will be joining by original anchors Cludine Trillo and Andrei Felix.
The network has also aired its new program March 4, anchored by Mai Rodriguez, to complement the 6pm weekend newscast. Titled “Newsroom Weekend”, it airs every Saturday at 12pm.
Then on March 27, “Network News” will be replaced by “News Night” at 6pm. The program will dig deeper into any news news stories. It will also be anchored by Hontiveros as the news program will offer in-depth analysis, discussions and perspective on current issues and events.
Finally, the latest program that surely caught the interest of Filipinos is the current affair program “Political Insider”. The program has debuted yesterday, March 3, and it is anchored by former journalist and legislator Gilbert Remulla.
The now-businessman will talk to government leaders and other insiders every week to discuss the latest political and socioeconomic issues facing by the Philippines today.
As CNN Philippines becomes bigger, Filipinos shall expect more innovative and more detailed news programs that will certainly make their lives swift.
