The pilot episode of AlDub’s debut series “Destined to Be Yours” impressed Kapuso fans as it instantly defeated its rival show, ABS-CBN’s “My Dear Heart”.
Based on AGB Nielsen NUTAM household survey, the newest kilig-serye registered a rating of 22.5% on February 22 versus rival’s 19.6%.
The AlDub series was consistent in beating “My Dear Heart”; until one day, the rating game has changed. After just 8 episodes, “Destined to Be Yours” was defeated by “Heart” with ratings of 20.7% and 21.9% respectively.
Prior to the series’ defeat, die-hard AlDub fan and Philstar columnist Nora Calderon posted the comparative AGB ratings of GMA Network’s and ABS-CBN’s shows. The data shows how “Heart” was almost able to beat the AlDub series with 0.1% difference.
Suddenly, a group of AlDub Nations started questioning Nora over the “Destined to Be Yours” performance in ratings.
Some were blaming the series’ time slot while others were pointing “Encantadia’s” ‘overtime’ as the cause of “Destined to Be Yours” late airing.
Some of them also believe that GMA’s absence of digital box affects the ratings of “Destined to Be Yours”. Meanwhile, others had even retweeted an advice saying they should turn on more televisions to increase the series’ ratings.
Missing ratings
To give them more curiosity over the ratings, AGB Nielsen data have been on hold since March 13. This have led to speculations that “Destined to Be Yours” is doing poorly against “My Dear Heart”. Even an “Encantadia” fan and AlDub Nations debated about it.
Is AlDub losing popularity? We’ll see when AGB Nielsen release its data.
