- A netizen attacked Leila Alcasid on Twitter.
- Leila’s stepmother, Regine Velasquez, came in to defend her.
- The Asia’s Songbird got emotional and said she might not use Twitter again.
Recently, Leila Alcasid has gone to the Philippines for a short-term vacation. The eldest daughter of Ogie Alcasid with former wife Michelle van Eimeren said she wanted to try showbiz.
On February 10, Leila took to Snapchat to post a photo of her and Regine with the caption says “PA for the day.”
PA is an acronym means personal assistant or “personal alalay.”
Some fans didn’t like Leila’s post and reminded the 19-year-old lady that Regine is the “Asia’s Songbird.” However, one Twitter follower caught the attention of Regine.
A netizen under the username ‘Spiggy’ tweeted Leila: “Leche ka @leilaalcasid manang-mana ka sa tatay mo. Susko mga pabigat, pabibo at mapagsamantala. Konting hiya din pag may time.”
Spiggy also tagged Regine in a post and said, “If you want to be a full time PA, so be it. Wala naman kami magagawa kung gusto mo yun.”
The Kapuso singer couldn’t help but to respond on Spiggy’s tweet. She defended her stepdaughter and said that it was just a joke. She further emphasized that the joke was made by her.
The exchange of tweets continued until Regine set her account in private and said she might not use Twitter again for it only brings dissatisfaction to her.
Although the singer stopped from tweeting, Spiggy still continued to justify his tweets. It also turned out that Spiggy is a die-hard fan of Regine and he just wanted to protect the singer from humiliation.
Based on his tweets, Spiggy’s main concern is Regine’s face on the Snapchat photo of Leila. The singer can be seen eating burger behind Leila without her make-up on. Spiggy said Regine should have wear duster dress so that she could uphold her joke as a PA.
Spiggy then counted the things he did as a fan like watching Regine’s concert in Cebu and buying her concert tickets for a raffle.
Nonetheless, Spiggy said he would remain a fan but he stressed would “let go.”
Meanwhile, on another Twitter post, Regine apologized to Leila for the distressful experience. She said, “I’m hurting. So sorry, sweetheart @leilaalcasid. I love you so much.” To which Leila responded: “No need, your kindness and generosity will never be underestimated by me. Love you so much.”
Regine’s Instagram and Twitter accounts remain private until now.
