Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid reaffirmed that she will stay as loyal Kapuso artist.
Despite being the only original remaining host in now-defunct variety shows “SOP” and “Party Pilipinas,” Regine said that she is not tempted to switch to other network.
Her former co-hosts—Jaya Ramsey, Jolina Magdangal, Janno Gibbs, Kyla, Jonalyn Viray, Jay R, and even her husband Ogie Alcasid—have transfered to ABS-CBN and TV5 respectively.
However, her exclusive interview with PEP.ph revealed that the songstress is very happy with GMA network for being “generous” to her.
The singer joked, “Kasi, binabayatan nila (GMA) ako. Hahaha!
She also confessed that she appreciates GMA’s efforts to give her the need she wanted. Plus, the network pays her even though she doesn’t work.
Regine continued that the GMA is not only generous by giving talent fee, but also generous for caring her career.
“GMA-7 has been generous to me with everything,” she said.
“I was given time to be a mom to my child.
“I was given time for myself to lose weight para I’d be more comfortable with my projects.
“They’ve been very lenient with me.”
Asked if she didn’t attempt to switch to other network, the 46-year-old singer said, “Okay na ako. I’m given naman all the opportunities. Kumbaga, marating kung anuman yung kailangan kong marating—I don’t know what that is.
“I’m given choices. I’m given also artistic hand on whatever project I choose to accept.
“So, gusto ko yun. Hindi ako masyadong sunud-sunuran lang.”
In fact, according to her, she is involved in the production of her upcoming weekly music-variety show “Full House Tonite,” which will air on February 18.
She also added, “So, it works for all us kasi nagiging teamwork talaga.
“Hindi lang ako singer or artista nila. Kasali rin ako pati doon sa pre-production nila.
“Yung ‘Full House Tonite’, primetime siya ipalalabas every Saturday night.”
Meanwhile, Regine discussed the decision of her husband Ogie to transfer to ABS-CBN.
Ogie’s 3-year contract with TV5 ended on 18 August 2016.
Regine said she is happy with Ogie’s decision.
