ABS-CBN and GMA both claimed that they dominated the rating game for the live telecast of the 65th Miss Universe.
According to Kantar Media, ABS-CBN’s coverage for the beauty pageant hit a national TV rating of 27.4%, a 10 percentage points higher than GMA Network’s telecast at 17% on January 31.
The Kapamilya network also recorded a TV rating of 28.2%, compared to GMA Network’s 23.7% in Mega Manila. Also in Metro Manila, the giant network recorded 30.8% versus GMA Network’s 19.4%.

Meanwhile, posted in GMA News’ Facebook page, the GMA Network thanked its fans for keeping Kapuso’s telecast the most-watched among the three networks.
According to GMA Network website, the network recorded a TV rating of 57.1%, compared to ABS-CBN’s 28% and TV5’s 8.4%, based on preliminary/overnight data of NUTAM audience shares.
However, many have noticed the sudden deletion of the data for NUTAM people share on GMA’s official website.
Fans have been debating for so many years on which TV network is the true number 1.
