- Karen admitted she’s not happy with her former group.
- She also revealed that members of GirlTrends don’t have “sisterly love.”
Karen Reyes shocked “It’s Showtime” fans when she left the group GirlTrends, a female counterpart of Hashtags. In an exclusive interview with entertainment site Push, Reyes revealed some of her reasons on why she left the girl group.
Firstly, Reyes admitted she was having a hard time getting along with the members of the girl group. She said, “Umalis ako kasi kung ganu’ng grupo yung masasalihan ko, might as well ‘wag na lang.
Secondly, she admitted that members of the girl group want to steal spotlight from one another and they always tried to outdo their co-members. Thus, the 20-year-old star didn’t feel the sisterhood within the group.
“Parang wala ‘yung sisterly love (sa group). Uso ang inggitan in a way na gusto nila lahat sila yung bida. Gusto nila, sila lahat ‘yung magaling. Wala ‘yung nagtutulungan.
Then, she shared an instance where she almost got into a fight with her fellow GirlTrends members.
Lastly, Reyes had withdrawn from the group after the heated argument.
She further explained, “After that, tinatawagan nila ako for rehearsal pero sabi ko, ‘ayoko na po.’ Alam mo, umiiyak ako noon habang nagre-rehearse… ganung level.”
Moreover, the actress said she is friendly and she was hurt when she noticed that there were competition inside the group.
“Kasi friendly ako, eh. Clingy ako sa mga friends. E nu’ng time na ‘yon, hindi ko alam ‘yung steps; hindi man lang tinuturo sa akin. Ganun sila; kaya nasaktan talaga ako na ‘bakit may kompetisyon?’” she also said.
Meanwhile, GirlTrends fans reactions were mixed upon receiving the news. On the other hand, the remaining members of the group are yet to speak on the issue.
